Thanks for all your responses, expressing your sympathy to our friends, relatives and all the suffering people in Sichuan Earthquake!

While we are crying, we will try our best to help! There are three ways what we could do now:

1). Send our consolation to the people in the quake places! CAPS has already sent our consolation letter to Sichuan and Chongqing, all our members and friends may also do so individually!

The following are couple of ways to make your contributions you may choose! Should you have some other suggestions/questions, you may let us know! (Welcome to give us a note about your donation for statistics purpose!)

My feeling about the earthquake  (Pin Xu)

Saturday, May 17, 2008 9:55 PM

Although I was not born in Sichuan,  I am a half-Sichuan: My wife was born in Dujiangyan, and I have been to Dujiangyan and Jiuzhaigou many times.

At about 6 AM on Monday (5/12) morning I was waken up by a few  loud phone rings. I was wondering who would call us so early. I answered the phone and my wife's sister in Shenzhen told me that there was a big earthquake in Dujiangyan, thousands of people may have died, and she did not know if all relatives are OK...

I checked CNN. The web site said there was an earthquake in Sichuan, but only a few hundred people died. I felt relief a little bit--maybe it is just a small earth shaking. I told my wife there was an earthquake,  and ask her to call China as soon as possible.

I was trying to call relatives in Dujianyan for several hours, but never had any luck--"all circuits are busy now, please call again later". I thought maybe there was really not available circut for my VoIP account.

A few hours later, most web sites reported that there was a 7.8M earthquake-- a big earthquake--as big as the Tangshan earthquake.

I checked more web sites and watched the famous vedio uploaded by students from Sichuan University.

From relatives and news media, I knew that was a huge earthquake: many people died and dead bodies were lying along the street everywhere;   many survived people in Dujiangyan were sleeping outside their homes: no water, no bathroom, no power, and no cell phone signal.

In the past few days, I watched hundred of photos and video clips. I was so sorrow. I could not control my tears while watching some of these photos and video clips.

What I could do was to donate some money, and  hoping that the Chinese government, military and people in China will save more lives. I hope Chinese government will help survivors in Sichuan to rebuild their homes, and give them more opportunities to have better life in the coming years.
